2024 QB – Riley Staton

SIZE: Riley has excellent size for a 2024 Pro Style QB at 6’4″ 180 lbs. This QB is in the developmental process of becoming an elite QB. He delivers the ball with a high release point, giving his throws added lift. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field.

ACCURACY: When given the time, Riley is right on the mark with his throws. Has a very consistent throwing motion, allowing for minimal deviation. Passes are made in-line with his receivers.

ARM STRENGTH: Displays good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A very quick release which allows for added velocity. Increased acceleration throughout his motion.

RELEASE: This is an area of strength fro Riley. Very good throwing mechanics which is consistent and fluid. An over the top delivery with full arm extension.

THROW ON RUN: Shows good lateral movement from side to side. Strong acceleration upon release. Solid body rotation. Has worked to add speed and quickness to his game.

FOOTWORK: A longer stride QB who can get around in a hurry. Solid footwork on his drop backs, well balanced and fluid steps. Runs a 4.95/40.

POISE: Very coachable with a good understanding of the game. Good patience in the pocket as he waits for his receivers’ break.

POCKET PRESENCE: Riley has the ability to feel incoming pressure while moving away from it. Able to keep his focus while in play mode.

DECISION MAKING: Riley displays good intelligence while assessing the play. Connects with his initial targets with quick reads.

TOUCH: Able to adjust the velocity of his delivery for a softer release when needed.
