Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina’s standout safety, delivered one of the most impressive showings in NFL Scouting Combine history, solidifying his status as a top draft prospect.
Emmanwori posted elite numbers, recording a 43-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-6 broad jump, leading all defensive backs at this year’s Combine. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds, putting him in an elite category of athleticism.
His performance is unprecedented—Emmanwori is the first safety in Combine history to hit all three marks: a sub-4.4 40-yard dash, over 43 inches in the vertical jump, and over 11 feet in the broad jump.
These numbers are impressive for any athlete, but Emmanwori’s size sets him apart. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, he combines rare explosiveness with the physical build of an elite defensive back, a combination that is nearly unheard of.
More than just a workout warrior, Emmanwori was a first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC safety last season. He was already projected as a likely first-round pick, and after this Combine performance, it would be shocking if he isn’t among the first names called on draft night.
