2024 QB- Carter Barnes

Overall rating

4.0/5

Based on Consolidated

+ Positives

Carter Barnes is a big athletic QB with a huge arm. He has a tremendous ability to improvise when the play breaks down and can do some freakish things with the football. (There is even a tremendous no-look pass for a touchdown at 1:56 on his junior film.) He is a true dual threat Quarterback and is extremely difficult to defend. When he does hang in the pocket he stays very poised when it gets chaotic. He can deliver a strike while being in a lot of pocket traffic. Carter can really drive the ball down the field and has a big-time FBS arm. Carter does well as a runner and is very nimble for his size. He can stick his foot in the ground, change direction, and make defenders miss. Carter has a 3.4GPA so grades are not an issue.

- Negatives

Carter could clean up his mechanics in the pocket to put further emphasis on ball security. He drops the ball a little low at times while in the pocket. Carter has a big arm but will need to hone in his howitzer and stay consistently accurate. Cleaning up his pocket mechanics will improve his accuracy. He has only been a starting QB for two seasons so he is still very raw.
