IS IT MANDATORY THAT I REGISTER FOR THE NCAA ELIGIBILITY CENTER, AND WHEN DO I NEED TO DO SO?

Yes, in order to play either NCAA DI or DII sports you must be cleared through the NCAA Eligibility Center, a process that requires you to register online at www.EligibilityCenter.org. It’s best to register at the end of your sophomore season or early in your junior year to make sure that you are meeting the mandatory requirements, scheduling the accepted core courses and setting yourself up to qualify in time to enroll as a freshman in college. The fee is $80 for U.S., U.S. territories* and Canadian students and $135 for international students who attended an international school after age 11.

The NCAA Eligibility Center certifies the academic and amateur credentials of all college-bound student-athletes who wish to compete in NCAA DI and DII, at one of over 640 schools across the country.
